A raw diet for cats has a moisture content of about 65% - 70%. This level corresponds to the water-content levels in natural prey such as mice, which range from 50% - 75%. Dry foods lower in moisture and containing excess carbs (such as kibble) will cause alkaline urine which leads to chronic dehydration.
