🏥 Persian Cat Health & Genetic Testing

At Designer Cats Singapore, all our Persian parent cats undergo comprehensive health screening. We are committed to breeding healthy, genetically sound kittens.

PKD Screening

Polycystic Kidney Disease is the most common genetic issue in Persians. All parent cats are DNA tested PKD-negative.

HCM Screening

Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy screening via echocardiogram ensures healthy heart function in all breeding cats.

Brachycephalic Care

Flat-faced Persians may have breathing and tear duct issues. We breed for moderate facial structure to promote better health.

Full Vaccination

Every kitten is fully vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and FIV/FELV tested before leaving our cattery.

🇸🇬 Owning a Persian Cat in Singapore

Persian cats are well-suited for Singapore's indoor living environment. Their calm, gentle, quiet, affectionate nature makes them excellent companions for HDB flats, condominiums, and apartments.

Singapore Cat Licensing (2024–2026)

Under the new HDB cat policy (effective 1 September 2024), all cats in HDB flats must be licensed by August 31, 2026. The annual fee is $14 per cat, and you can keep up to 2 cats per HDB flat. All Designer Cats kittens come pre-microchipped, making the licensing process seamless.

Climate Considerations

Persian cats require extra care in Singapore's humid climate. Their long coats need daily brushing to prevent matting, and air-conditioned environments are essential. Regular eye cleaning is important as humidity can increase tear staining. Despite the extra grooming needs, their calm indoor nature makes them well-suited for Singapore apartments.
